Tucson Criminal Defense Attorney, Richard P. Nedlin
I am both dedicated and passionate about the practice of criminal defense law and family law. Originally from New York, I received my undergraduate degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a law degree from New York Law School. I later moved to Colorado — a favorite destination since my youth — and worked as the Deputy District Attorney for the Office of the District Attorney, Ninth Judicial District in Aspen, Colorado. After years of being a prosecutor, I decided to bring my knowledge and experience to the practice of criminal defense. That experience gave me an insider’s perspective on the other side of the court system, as I handled filings, hearings, and trials in a spectrum of felonies and misdemeanors. I also chose to focus on family law after going through a litigious and complex divorce. I understand the emotional toll it can take on one’s mind and body and can sympathize and empathize with my clients. I have learned to be mindful in my approach to cases as well as managing expectations.
After 16 years in Colorado, I decided to move to Tucson, AZ, and trade cold winters for hot summers. I enjoy working out, hiking, and spending time with my family and German Shepherd. Currently, I am admitted to practice law in New York, Colorado, and Arizona, and I gave back to the community through volunteer teaching at Pima Community College.
